Executive energy advisory

Independent analysis of energy exposure, policy risk and the arithmetic behind a plan, for boards and investors who would rather know now than find out later.

Who I work with

Boards, investment committees and senior teams whose plans depend on assumptions about the energy system: its cost, its reliability, and the direction of policy. Usually the question is the same one in different clothes: is the number we have been given real, and what happens to us if it is not.

What a first engagement looks like

A briefing

A half-day session with the board or committee on the physics and economics behind your exposure. You leave with a shared vocabulary and a list of the assumptions that matter most.

A review

A written assessment of a plan, a forecast or a policy position: what it assumes, where the assumptions are weakest, what the downside looks like in numbers. Two to four weeks.

A retainer

Standing access for organisations that want the arithmetic checked as decisions arise, rather than after them.

How I work

Measure first, argue second. Every figure I give you carries its source and its uncertainty. I will tell you when the honest answer is that nobody knows, and I do not take work where the conclusion has been decided in advance.
